Special Needs Cheerleading Program is Growing
Gaston County's first ever special needs cheerleading program is growing to facilitate two teams for the 2008/09 season.

Carolina Galaxy’s very own Super Novas were an overwhelming success in the 2007/08 season. Along with numerous first place trophies from cheerleading competitions they attended all along the eastern seaboard, they also earned a silver medal at their first ever showing at the North Carolina Special Olympics.  The team was fully funded from whom else, you the community, along with Carolina Galaxy.  With your help, we were able to raise enough money to cover uniforms, coaching, and travel related expenses for these extraordinary athletes.  Now, with your help, Galaxy wants to move forward to make dreams come true for another cheerleading team this season.  The new team will be known as the Carolina Galaxy Shockwaves. They are going to be awesome!!  We would like to encourage you to open up your hearts to these individuals, and help us to make them into the team that the Super Novas have become.  We are also recruiting individuals for this team.  If you know of someone who may benefit from this program, or you or your business would like to make a donation to cover the expenses associated with creating another quality special needs cheerleading team, please contact us at 704-824-1165, or email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Summer Camps

Galaxy Summer Camp

The 2008 Galaxy Summer Camp will be 11 weeks long, running from June 9th to August 22nd. Galaxy Summer Camp offers a very important opportunity for both intellectual growth as well as physical fitness for all our students. The Galaxy schedule is designed each year with these two main objectives in mind. The main difference between the Galaxy summer camp program versus other camps is the focus on personal development in addition to community involvement. While other programs concentrate on simply giving kids a place to hang out, Galaxy offers activities, crafts, and opportunities to continue with educational development, physical fitness goals, and social development through-out the summer.  Click Here to Read More
